Alright, so I'm trying to help out my girlfriend's family by getting them their password to their wireless network connection.
I know I can bruteforce passwords for windows accounts and stuff with like ophcrack, but how do I find out the password for their network connection?

It's where you find all the available networks to connect to then you select it and it asks you to put in a password that they set to secure it if anyone was confused by what I was asking.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get that for them by either a file in their computer, router settings and details or bruteforcing it?

The easiest way is to reset the router to factory defaults and re enter a password. Find out which router and model number is it and I'll try to help you with the procedure.

Outcast, that's exactly what I just posted. Default anyway seems how there is no such thing as a master pass for logging in. All routers and gateways come with a default username and password for logging into them.

I knew to do that I just didn't know that it set the password to connect to it through windows.

Alrighty, thanks guys : )

And I'll handle the router type, unless I really can't find it then I'll let you know.

Much appreciated.
